Set in the 1970's, the movie is about the first ever all girl rock band, started by Joan Jett, played by the Twilight saga star Kristin Stewart and her New Moon costar Dakota Fanning who plays fifteen year old lead singer Cherie Currie.
Following the short life of the band, the movie depicts the main theme of the seventies; sex, drugs, and rock and roll, but not all of their lifestyle is glamorous. Between the alcohol, drugs, and drama the band fell apart not long after they started. Joan Jett did not let this stop her from becoming famous as a solo act.
The film is entertaining for most audiences, however may not be suited for children. The best part of this movie is the theater it is playing at.
